ATVs, I don't judge people on their choice of rides unless it is the Smart Fortwo or some really, ugly hybrid like the original Honda Insight!

Seriously, it is too bad that Hummer owners are being left out to fend for themselves. I doubt GM will keep the division, heck I doubt GM will even be around after this summer, at least as we know it. Enjoy your ride and the ATV.

I found you through entrecard but I don't normaly leave a comment, I'm inspired by the first commenter.

Unfortunately the only "lucid" thought that comes to mind at 2am is that I own a similar Hummer and it carries my ATV - your article is bang on! Don't be too harsh on me, I might regret it in the morning :-)

I've always like the hummer but hated the idea of having to spend the money on the gas. For packin the family up for a trip its great for space.

Hi Matt, thank you for your comment and the way that you found out about this site!

Hummer and Jeep are distinct brands, but there is likely to be some competition between similar models. The H3 is still a bit bigger than the Grand Cherokee, but the H3T -- a pickup truck -- is slightly smaller than the full sized trucks sold by GM/Chevrolet, Dodge, and Ford. Jeep doesn't sell a truck right now.

Yes, future Hummer products will be closer to Jeep, only because they'll start building them smaller and lighter. Hummer has a concept vehicle that may come out in a few years which is similar in size to the Jeep Wrangler. It may not be called the H4, but it is the next smaller Hummer under consideration.

Personally, I wouldn't consider a larger Hummer simply because of the gas it will eat, but the smaller, lighter Hummer might be something I would consider:

BTW, Hummer buyers have a higher disposable income than Jeep, therefore for these people gas prices isn't the same issue for them as it is for us grunts!

Hey Matt (great name btw), I wanted to find out what you considered to be a relatively lucid comment. ;-) I found you, not through entrecard, but through the comment you left on the Legally Blonde girl's Reese Witherspoon themed comments where she's trying to find commenters and readers through her blog and slamming entrecard and others in the process.

Question for you: The H3--I really don't see much difference between it and a Jeep Grand Cherokee....so...what advantages does it have over the Jeep line and isn't it just Hummer's attempt to compete with Jeep? Oooh, I love the rhyme there.

And...with gas prices going stratospheric, why would anyone still want a Hummer?
