Time For An Automotive Job Board!
I can’t help but listen to the sad plight of so many of my fellow Americans. Shoot, my fellow global citizens would be a more accurate description of the pain that is being felt worldwide!
I may be just one person, but I’ve decided to do my part to help relieve the suffering. No, I don’t have money to give away and I’m certainly not the best person to hook you up with someone who can, but I do hear of some pretty good job opportunities from time to time, including those having something to do with cars.
I figure that the majority of people who make their way to Auto Trends are more than a passing interest in automobiles. Some of you are weekend mechanics, able to to rip apart and rebuild an engine in two days flat. Others here are more like me — we like cars, but we’ll leave the grease work to the mechanics. That leaves everyone else who falls somewhere in between the two poles.
I’ve listed jobs here in the past, but that earlier effort didn’t go over all that well. Although I was careful with posting only those opportunities I thought would spark the interest of our general readership, I wasn’t able to keep up with the list. In addition, traffic to the pages wasn’t all that impressive, so I dropped the idea within a month of its launch last summer.
Fast forward to March 2009 and the economy is really in the pits. Lots of people have lost their jobs and quite a few folks know that what they were doing in the past will not be what they’ll be working on in the future.
As difficult as it may be for some, this can also be a good opportunity for people to start doing what they really want to do — put their passion to work for them. If you’ve been pushing a pencil for years or running numbers, maybe you’ve dreamed of doing something with cars.
Well now you can.
I’ve just relaunched the Auto Trends Job Board and although the initial pickings are quite slim, I think I’ll be able to come up with more opportunities this time around. True, there isn’t an assembly line job to be had, but NASCAR is hiring as are a number of smaller, local companies who serve the public.
I left out dealership jobs and I certainly won’t be listing the car wash manager position in Houston. If you want something local with a well known dealer or service company, then simply apply there directly.
How often will I update the site? I cannot say for sure. For now, there are a few jobs listed and I’ll add more when I can find and verify them.

Online job boards really help a lot as many are searching online. In fact my current employment, I hunted it online.

Thank you for your encouragement, Webbielady. This proves to me that I’m on the right track as far as posting jobs. I’m being selective so as not to include junk, therefore there will not be many jobs to show at any one time. Maybe someone will find work through this site and I hope that they let me know if they do.
