It gives some people a small cash award now but will increase their tax burden later. A democratic government should only provide the services that private companies can't or won't provide, (transportation infrastructure, water, national security...) So the thousands of savings from this bill for consumers is not entirely accurate. The demand will increase prices and you'll get a voucher from increased prices.
