Concepts
Years before a new model is released, automakers will often develop concept vehicles to gauge public interest. Some concept cars are created with no
plans to go into production, rather the automaker is seeking to showcase a styling trend, outline technological advancements, and more.
Occasionally, a concept car will be brought to production with few apparent changes made. The recent introduction of the 2008 Dodge Challenger is one example of this as the production version strongly resembles the concept Challenger which was previously seen as it traveled the auto show circuit.
Featuring concept vehicles is the centerpiece of what Auto Trends is all
about. We’re developing new pages to post this site which will include photographs and a description of some of the concept cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs out there by manufacturer. Specifically, we’re showcasing cars from the following automakers:
- General Motors
- Ford Motor Company
- Chrysler LLC
- Toyota
- Honda
- Nissan
- BMW
- Mercedes
- Volkswagen
- Hyundai
Plus, we’ll be tracking additional models as they become known to us, vehicles which will be spotlighted by Auto Trends.
Incidentally, if you like to track technology changes as they roll out, we’ll be keeping an eye on this topic as well. Please visit our technology section which will be updated regularly with cutting edge news.
